HOCKEY HIT OF THE WEEK — 3-13-12
This week’s HHOTW is from last Tuesday’s game in Philadelphia where the Flyers were hosting the Detroit Red Wings.
I must warn you, this is not a pretty hit. Detroit’s Niklas Kronwall takes out (literally) Philly’s Jakub Voracek with a viscious hit that nearly knocks him out cold. Kronwall turns just before impact in order to use his shoulder as he plowed directly into Voracek’s nose.
My biggest question is where were the referees? Not only did they not call a penalty, but they allowed play to continue for another 10-12 seconds with a player down on the ice who obviously had no idea where he was. That is ridiculous. If all things were fair and equal, a referee would have joined Kronwall in the penalty box. Ironically, no one ended up in the box.
Judge for yourself and let me know what you think.

Kronwall sure knows how to fight fair like a sissy. He seems to be practicing how to be a bully when he goes back to high school. REA
